Notes on the First Age | The First age of the world was one of wonder and power. Ancient records hint that there were weapons wielded by the rulers. Three weapons in all, one said to be for the ruler of each main continent. These rulers were said to become greedy and coniving, causing chaos and disorder with their decisions. These records go on to write that the world was full of slavery, death, war, and terrible sadness. Quite angry did this cause the Gods to become it says; they not only cursed every mortal life, but also caused countless natural disasters to crumble and collapse the known world. It does not say how many survived the end of the age, but it leads me to believe that there were not a great number that did.
Since the breaking, more is known of the world. The gods re-built the lands after the disaster of the first age. Mortals were no longer to be trusted having the gods living among them. It was decided that mortals learned to rely too much on their presence. Society built itself back up again over the next 8 centuries, and the gods interacted with the lives of mortals only in great need. Some believe the ancient and mostly illegible documents were left as a warning to all races. | | --From the hand of Kryten Draknor, Chief Adviser to Queen Kaiyren |
