Come in and talk about what you have recently, or are currently, reading. Whether you like it, don't, love, hate, and all that good stuff!

This last weekend I read "Prey" by Michael Chricton. It was a bit predictable, and a helicopter sequence going to the "out of control" site was a little too Jurassic Park. The idea was very interesting though, and the programming talk certainly kept me reading. Furthermore, the fact that I finished it in less than 24 hours surely shows I did enjoy it.

Now I am reading a new, to me at least, author named Brandon Sanderson. To those that are not aware and are interested, Mr. Sanderson has been chosen as the author asked to finish book #12 of the Wheel of Time, A Memory of Light. Harriet said to have chosen the young author after reading the series that I just picked up.

The first book in the series is "The Final Empire", and Mistborn is the name of the trilogy. Basically it relays what would happen if the hero of legend fails to save the world. In his setting the "Lord Ruler" has held power for 1000 years. The land is barren, and ash falls from the sky.

Here is a link to the site about the book.

Sounds like a good idea.
I'm currently reading the second book in The Black Magician Trilogy, it's a series by Australian author Trudi Canavan

Prior to that I read the second series by Fiona McIntosh (another Aussie writer) called The Quickening - starting with Myrren's Gift Smile

I love my fantasy books Very Happy

I just finished the 5th Harry Potter. It took me awhile to really get into it, but the second half flew by very quickly. I suppose now I'll have to read six before the movie comes out.
